THE NOT-SO-SURPRISE-BIRTHDAY

simply a sentence could spoilt the whole plan which i had killed so many brain cells to think of it.

just when i said, 'don't wear white jeans tomorrow', everything spilled out. i gave myself away. ): But that's not my fault; he asked me what he should wear, but he ended up wearing a shirt which i wanted him not to wear. (how would i know it would be just so coincidental that he would wear that in my opinion 'ugly' shirt out, haha)

Failed surprise #1: I've planned way long ago that i am going to cook (not literally) his favourite dishes for him during lunch on the day of celebration (today). Being the cheeky him, he always like to guess what i've planned for him and he jokingly said the day before that:" You must be cooking my favourite dishes for me, right?" Then i was like..totally SPEECHLESS. How on earth did he guess that? Then he said, " But it's impossible, cos he don't know how to cook!" Despite him already guessed what i am going to do, i still woke up at 10am to prepare the lunch for him.

I went over to my Ah Ma house, bringing all the ingredients with me (potatoes, pig trotter can, nuggets (which i forgot and i had to run back to get them!), and luncheon meat. My ah ma is a great cook, she always cooks very nice, delicious food for us, so i asked her to help me to cook his favourite dishes for me while i stayed besides and tried to learn how to cook. To show my sincerity in preparing the food for him, thoughi wasn't the one who was cooking for him, i helped my ah ma in preparing the stuff (such as washing the plates, opening the can etc etc).

Rushed home and cooked rice for him. It was all in a rush. When he reached my house, he told me he wasn't hungry cos he has already eaten!!! (he was too hungry earlier on!) My mood was dampened. But he still ate a little despite him saying that the rice was too dry and the potatoes weren't the ones that he likes!! Hmph! I felt so unappreciated until i received a 'thank you' coming out of his mouth and an OILY kiss from him.

Successful surprise #2 : His favourite CoCoa Exotic Cake which i bought in school the day before. At least he didn't expect me to give him a birthday cake, though it's only a slice of it. (:

Failed surprise #3 : I planned to watch Ocean's Thirteen (a movie he has always wanted to watch since it was screened) @ Plaza Singapura and he already guessed that we'll be going to town. As it was quite an old movie, there was only one or two slots in some of the cinemas. Some cinemas have already stopped screening it. I went to check the day before the only slot at 4 plus and there were still many seats available. (Only about 1/4 of the seats were taken and i thought that since it's an old movie, not many people would want to watch, so i didn't book online) When we reached there, the queue was long, the AXS station played a fool on us and the movie was selling fast when we went to the counters. Plan failed yet again. I didn't expect the plan to fail so i did not have a backup plan, then we ended up shopping around town instead.

Failed shopping #4: Actually this is not in the plan, but anyway, i wanted to buy a pair of covered shoes cos i realised i couldn't find a nice pair of shoes to match with before i went out today. Finally, i saw a very nice pair of shoes which he and i agreed that it was nice (we seldom agrees on the same things; girls and boys have different taste.) I walked around the whole island, 4 of the outlets (Heeren, Taka, Paragon and Vivo) , but i still couldn't find any; it's either the display pair and it's dirty or there's no size available, whether it's size 37 or 38. ):

Failed surprise #5: He knew we are going to Vivo and sentosa. He even knows we are going to the beach. -_-. You can see how my plan failed badly!

Failed surprise #6: I did not know where to settle for dinner and asked him to decide instead, giving him the excuse that since it's his birthday, he shall decide where to eat. and we settled for Earle's Swensens. Both of us were confused by it's unique name, why can't it called as normal Swensens, Swensens, instead of Earle's Swensens. We guessed that it's supposed to sound more classy, that's why, haha. It was indeed different from other outlets. The service was great. The ambience was nice, despite us having our dinner with almost no light. And the best thing was that there was a salad buffet. Totally FREE OF CHARGE. They served nice chips and sauce. The fruit salad and coleslaw were really delicious. The fruit salad even has prawn in it! And the fruits they served were red and juicy and sweet, for the watermelons that we've eaten. The fish&chips which i ate was fresh and tasty, the chicken culet he ate was all right as well.

So we left for Sentosa with our stomach filled and fully satisfied!! ((:

One thing i am most upsetting about the whole events lined up today was that he had to pay all the bills, despite it being his birthday celebration, cos i am declared broke. I had less than $10 in my wallet.

When we went to the ticketing booth, there was a dispute going on between a gang of young ah bengs and an adult Indian. We didn't know what actually was going on but all we heard was vulgarities exchanging between two parties and people were there controlling them, preventing them to fight. One sad thing was that, the sentosa staffs didn't even bother to call the police or the security up to settle the matter, they just continued with their work...it's really a sad thing to see it happening.

I was so scared at that point, cos we were really near them. But lucky me, i had him to protect me. (:despite him telling me what the both parties should do most of the time, like to fight -_-, instead of comforting me not to be scared. He always likes to see those kind of scenes happening, such a sadist. But what worries me most is that if they really fight, my boyf might get implicated given that he has gangster face!!! So i just quickly dragged him to the monorail entrance and get away from the dispute though he wanted to stay on to see what happened.

Successful surprise #7: Though he already knows that we are heading for Siloso beach, we had the best moments there yesterday, in fact, everytime we went there. (: We walked to the middle stretch of the beach and sat down.

Hearing the swashing sound of the waves. Looking at the starless yet cloudy sky. enjoying the breeze blowing past our face. Lying on his chest with the sands beneath. Though no words was exchanged between us, love was greatly felt. Two hearts linking together, knowing that we will always be there for each other. This feeling was just awesome. (((: Nothing could feel any better than this. The ambience was so great i almost felt asleep cos it was just so comfortable.

We spent almost 2 hours sitting there before i handed him his present, which he had also guessed what it was!!!! ): Can't he just act blur for once?! I was completely demoralised by the end of the day cos i didn't know i was that bad at planting a surprise.

He hugged me while he opened his present.

The wallet. At least he didn't guess that i would have bought him this design, cos i told him i like another design until i saw this.

In the wallet, i cut up a picture of us taken at vivo last year and put it in. I had a hard time measuring the length and all, making amendments here and there to fit the size. The L.O.V.E card was also made by me that allows him to have a lifetime of love.

His birthday card. So nice! (: Even i was proud of it myself! i read the card to him and while i was reading, i was so touched. (i don't know why but i could feel tears in my eyes.) I guess he was touched too, cos he gave me a tight tight hug and a big kiss after hearing.

He looked so forceful when i asked him to take a picture! That explains the look on his face.

Second attempt he was willing to give in and smile at the camera but the flash spoilt everything. It was so bright that we had to close our eyes when it captured this picture. that explains our small eyes.
