Of Mooncakes & lanterns

Was woken up early in the morning by the smell of Mac's Hotcakes with Sausage which Baby bought for me. Brushed my teeth, and when i was preparing to eat it, i realised he didn't take so many things (the butter, the chillis, coffee without creamer and sugar! and so many things!) Haha.

After breakfast, we decided to be lazy and went back lying on our bed to watch Butterfly Effect. It was a little too boring for me that i fell asleep halfway through it while baby stayed up and finished it. Nap an hour or two and we get changed and went to Jurong Point for W-A-L-L . E!!!!! Before the movie, we went to walk around and helped my mum to buy cabbage and explored the new arcade. Wall. E is so C-U-T-E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But i didn't like the story. All the time i was only looking at Wall.E.

Dinner was supposed to be settled at jurong point, but we couldn't decided what to eat so we took a train down to Chinese Garden Hawker Centre for dinner. I totally regretted eating there. Most of the stalls were either closed or there were little dishes left with so we only had limited choice. In the end, we settle for zi char. Looks are always deceiving. The signboard they put up were so appealing. I ordered Pork Ribs with Rice and when it came, i thought they had gave us the wrong idea. The pork ribs were in no way in resemblance of a pork rib but chicken dipped in thick layer of flour. It tasted so bad i threw half away.

Then, we walked to Chinese Garden for 2008 Mid Autumn Festival. I was really looking forward to it cos it's the first time that Baby and i actually celebrate together and furthermore, going to Chinese Garden. But the ticket was really a daylight robbery. On normal days to Chinese garden would be a free entry but this time round was $15 each per entry. They sure know how to make money huh!?

The tickets were so expensive that i almost wanted to ask baby to turn back instead cos i don't think the tickets should cost us so much. But Baby was very generous to pay for the tickets so that i could go in and look at the mid-autumn festival things.

This year's theme is Hello Kitty & Friends (-.-). Why can't there be one year when it's Winnie The Pooh & Friends? Anyway, you could expect a lot of hello kitty, my melody and the other characters practically everywhere we go.

If you realised, all the characters just keep on repeating itself. So this is probably the first, and the last time that we are going to chinese garden during mid-autumn except when the theme is Winnie The pooh! If not, we are not going to waste our money in there.

But i would say it's a very different kind of experience for both of us. Baby even bought a lantern (those paper lantern that could burn easily) for me to play with and carried it during our walk. It's been a long long time since i've carried a lantern. I could still remembered the last time i went to chinese garden during mid-autumn was with my family when i was like this:
